Zozi scores major film gig!

SHE made Mzansi proud when she was crowned Miss Universe 2019.

And as if that is not enough, she continues to fly the South African flag high.

Zozibini “Zozi” Tunzi has been cast in an American historical epic film, The Woman King.

Taking to Twitter and Instagram to share the great news, she wrote: “I am so honoured and excited to announce that I’ve been cast for the The Woman King. It is a completely new world and first-time experience for me, so I enter it with the utmost respect and humility. Forever grateful and looking forward.”

The beauty queen from the Eastern Cape is joining Mzansi’s internationally recognised and award-winning actress Thuso Mbedu, who will star alongside Academy award-winning actress, Viola Davis.

The film, written by Dana Stevens and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, has local familiar faces such as Thando Dlomo, Seputla Sebogodi, Masali Baduza and Makgotso Monyemorathoe.

Legendary producer and composer Lebohang Morake, popularly known as Lebo M, wrote original songs for the film.

He has composed soundtracks for popular productions, including The Lion King.
