Mom Claims Sneaker Shop is Ignoring Her After Failing a $10K Order
A mother from Westbank claims that a trendy sneaker store featured on TikTok has been avoiding her after failing to deliver the items she purchased.
Monique Thomas says she discovered an online winkel called Sneaker Head on the popular social media platform and ordered ten pairs of takkies. However, she states that she’s encountered problems from the very beginning and is now being ignored.
Monique, 45, reveals that she placed an order using the phone number listed on the TikTok account last Thursday and received the sneakers the same day, paying R10 700 in cash on delivery.
She shares: “They’re quite popular on TikTok, which is why I trusted them, but they’ve been to my house three times because they are extremely disorganized.
“When the takkies were delivered, they either sent the wrong shoes, incorrect sizes, or some were missing.”
“On the last Thursday, I paid for everything and they assured me they would exchange it for the correct takkies.
“They returned again on Friday and Saturday, but once more, they delivered the wrong takkies.
“My daughter ultimately chose to accept a pair of takkies she didn’t want because she realized it was a hele deurmekaar storie with them.
”Some of the shoes were eventually corrected, but now we still have the wrong takkies, and they never came back, leaving me to be ignored.”
Monique mentioned that she paid R1 400 for her Nike takkies, but the pair is too small.
Now, her calls are being rejected and her messages are being marked as seen without a reply.
She adds: “As a single mother, I’m doing my best for my three children, working occasionally with my dad.
“I even threatened them with police involvement to make them respond and resolve my issue, but niks maakie.”
“I’m frustrated with their service and would like them to either correct the shoes or refund my money. Additionally, I have been blocked from their TikTok account.”
Upon contacting the phone number listed on the Sneaker Head social media account, calls either went unanswered or were sent to voicemail. WhatsApp messages were also ignored.
When reaching out to the delivery driver, he claimed he does not work for Sneaker Head and only handles their deliveries.
