Support Little Beauty Skylar on Her Journey to the Joburg Pageant!
At just 11 years old, Skylar Abrahams from Bonteheuwel is already making a name for herself in pageantry, having only been in the industry for five months.
Following her debut pageant in June, she has accumulated numerous titles and is gearing up to compete at the SA National Pageantry Festival in April 2025 in Johannesburg.
The Grade 5 student at Klipfontein Primary School is nurtured by her single mother and grandmother, having overcome a significant health challenge as a baby.
She struggled with a trachea condition for nearly three years and only began to speak at the age of six.
Today, she holds over ten titles, including Miss City of Cape Town First Princess, Face of Autism 2024, Junior Miss Bishop Lavis 2024/25, Queen of Hearts, and several others.
Her coach and uncle, Martin Abrahams, is organizing a fundraiser to raise R18,000 for their trip to Joburg.
He is encouraging models to join the runway for the Miss Recycle 2024 pageant on 30 November at Oudehout Park in Netreg, showcasing costumes crafted from recycled materials.
The proud uncle stated: “I am dedicated to doing everything possible for Sky.
“I refuse to let her down by saying ‘we don’t have the money.’
“As a community, we can come together to support not only Skylar but also inspire other young people to chase their dreams.”
The pageant welcomes participants from all backgrounds, with an entry fee of R15. For audience members, children over five years will pay R5, and adults will be charged R10.
The event is set to commence at 2pm, and for those looking to contribute toward the trip, please contact 081 246 2346.
