Groove into Tomorrow

Experience the beat of history and the rhythm of future melodies at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2025.

This year’s festival, scheduled for April 25 and 26 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), centers around the theme “Legacy Meets Tomorrow”—a salute to the festival’s rich history and its promising future.

At the core of this year’s campaign is a stunning video featuring the Kaap se eie sax maestro Don Vino Prins and acclaimed pianist Kyle Shepherd—two artists whose careers have been closely linked to the festival’s evolution.

Their performances not only celebrate the festival’s lasting impact but also highlight the fresh wave of jazz talent poised to shape the genre in the years ahead.

Enhancing the excitement, well-known figures Siv Ngesi and Jeannie D add their voices to the campaign, underscoring the festival’s vibrant fusion of tradition and innovation.

As Jeannie D reflects: “It was more than just a stage; it was a vision—one that grew more powerful with each note played and every soul touched at Africa’s Grandest Gathering.”

Don Vino Prins echoes this sentiment proudly stating: “From here, we established a platform for the world. Where jazz found its home in Cape Town, where Africa’s Grandest Gathering was born.”

Actor and presenter Siv Ngesi adds: “And now we carry the legacy into the future, preserving Africa’s Grandest Gathering for generations ahead.”

In support of the campaign, Cape Town Mayor Gordon Hill-Lewis proudly announces that the festival is happening in “The Best City in the World,” as attested by Time Out.

With a stellar line-up featuring both legendary icons and innovative talent from local and international jazz scenes, CTIJF 2025 promises to offer an unforgettable experience.
