Groove Into Tomorrow

COME and immerse yourself in the legacy of jazz and the vibrant sounds of the future at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2025.

This year’s event, scheduled for April 25 and 26 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), revolves around the theme “Legacy Meets Tomorrow” — honoring the festival’s longstanding history and its promising future.

The centerpiece of this year’s campaign features a stunningly produced video showcasing Kaap se eie sax artist Don Vino Prins alongside acclaimed pianist Kyle Shepherd — two artists whose journeys have been closely linked with the festival’s narrative.

Their performances exemplify the festival’s lasting impact while also highlighting the emerging jazz talents that will shape the genre in the years to come.

Adding to the allure, well-known figures Siv Ngesi and Jeannie D contribute their voices to the campaign, emphasizing the festival’s vibrant mix of heritage and innovation.

As Jeannie D expresses: “It was more than just a stage; it was a vision—one that has grown stronger with each note played and every soul inspired at Africa’s Grandest Gathering.”

In agreement, Don Vino Prins proudly declares: “From this place, we crafted a stage for the world. This is where jazz found its home in Cape Town, where Africa’s Grandest Gathering was born.”

Actor and presenter Siv Ngesi states: “And now we carry this legacy forward, keeping the spirit of Africa’s Grandest Gathering alive for future generations.”

In support of the campaign, Cape Town Mayor Gordon Hill-Lewis enthusiastically announces that the festival is taking place in “The Best City in the World”, as recognized by Time Out.

With a stellar lineup featuring both legendary icons and innovative talents from local and international jazz communities, CTIJF 2025 is set to offer an extraordinary experience.
