Diddy Seeks to Exit

SEAN “Diddy” Combs has officially requested to be released from federal custody, a few months ahead of his scheduled sentencing on October 3.

In a motion submitted on Tuesday, July 29, Combs’ legal team is advocating for a $50 million bond to facilitate his release until sentencing, asserting that the music mogul is neither a flight risk nor a threat to society.

The motion recommends several conditions for his release, such as home confinement at his Miami mansion, strict travel limitations, and engagement in mental health and substance abuse treatment programs.

His attorneys stressed that Diddy is prepared to surrender his passport, stay under supervision, and travel only within Florida and New York for court-related matters.

According to the motion, Combs’ lead attorney Marc Agnifilo claimed that the conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn—where Diddy has been detained since his September 2024 arrest—are “dangerous and inhumane.”

Agnifilo also highlighted that many individuals charged with similar offenses are commonly released before their sentencing.

“Sean Combs should not be in jail for this conduct,” the attorney remarked. “In fact, he might be the only individual currently incarcerated in the US for being a client – and certainly the only one imprisoned for hiring adult male escorts for himself and his partner.”

Diddy was acquitted earlier this month of more serious allegations, including sex trafficking and racketeering, but found guilty on two counts of breaching the Mann Act, which prohibits the transportation of individuals across state lines for illicit purposes.

The convictions pertain to his use of private transport services to fly adult male sex workers for personal encounters.

The defense argues that Combs’ actions, including his publicly discussed “freak-off” parties and unconventional relationships, have been misrepresented. They maintain that the actions in question involved consenting adults and should not warrant incarceration.
