Salah Appears Disoriented

Wayne Rooney, a legend at MANCHESTER United, has joined the growing criticism regarding Mo Salah’s recent work rate with Liverpool.

Once again, Salah fell short in Liverpool’s disappointing 2-1 loss against Chelsea on Saturday, missing several opportunities and neglecting his defensive responsibilities.

He has gone scoreless in five out of Liverpool’s seven Premier League matches this season, which has taken a toll on the champions.

The defeat at Stamford Bridge marked Liverpool’s third loss in just eight days, allowing Arsenal to surpass them in the league standings.

This season, Salah, 33, has netted only three goals and provided three assists across nine matches in all competitions.

His sluggish performance against Chelsea aligns with a significant drop in form since last season’s conclusion.

Rooney commented on the BBC’s Wayne Rooney Show: “It’s known that he doesn’t always track back to defend. However, in the Chelsea match, his full-back was getting overwhelmed while he stood by.”

“When things are going well and he’s scoring, the team can overlook that. But the past week has made me question his work ethic.”

“The leaders in that dressing room should be reminding him that he needs to contribute. He seems a bit off in the last week.”

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy echoes Rooney’s sentiment and noted: “It seems that Mohamed Salah’s minimal defensive contributions are becoming a concern for Liverpool, particularly against stronger opposition.”

Liverpool will be eager for Salah to regain his form when the league resumes next weekend.

He’ll have a chance to prove Rooney wrong when they face United at Anfield next Sunday.
