Stormers Honored in URC Team of the Season

THE Stormers and the Bulls lead the United Rugby Championship Team of the Season with three representatives each.

Announced on Wednesday, the lineup features eight players from South African teams, including two stars from the Lions in the Elite XV.

Stormers flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, No.8 Evan Roos, and prop Ntuthuko Mchunu have all earned their spots, with Feinberg-Mngomezulu topping the tournament’s scoring charts with 158 points, while Roos has the most tries at 12.

The Bulls are represented by scrumhalf Embrose Papier, lock Cobus Wiese, and hooker Johann Grobelaar.

Quan Horn and Ruan Venter are the two Lions players who made the list.

Although injured Mngomezulu won’t be able to add to his points when the Stormers play Leinster in the tournament semi-finals in Ireland this Saturday, teammate Roos aims to continue his scoring streak.

The Bulls, on the other hand, will be in Scotland taking on the Warriors, who topped the regular season standings.

If both the Stormers and the Bulls secure victories this weekend, they will return to South Africa to vie for the final at Cape Town Stadium on June 20.
