Mother from Atlantis Appears in Court Following Child Abuse Allegations
The girl’s mother appeared in the Atlantis Magistrate’s Court after her arrest. A spokesperson from the National Prosecuting Authority, Eric Ntabazalila, confirmed her appearance in court.
The identities of both the minor and her mother are protected from publication to prevent further trauma to the girl. The proceedings have been postponed until Tuesday, May 19, with the mother remaining in custody.

Lightburn stated: “I cannot understand how an adult could impregnate an 11-year-old child while the mother remains complicit in this horrific crime.”
